Quake 3

Quake III Arena (also known as Quake 3; abbreviated as Q3A or Q3), is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter video game. The game was developed by id Software and featured music composed by Sonic Mayhem and Front Line Assembly. Quake III Arena is the third in the series and differs from previous games by excluding a traditional single-player element and focusing on multi-player action. The single-player is instead played against computer controlled bots.

Notable features of Quake 3 include the minimalist design, lacking rarely used items and features, the extensive customizability of player settings such as field of view, texture detail and enemy model, and advanced movement features such as strafe-jumping and rocket-jumping.

Quake 3 is available on a number of platforms and contains mature content. The game was highly praised by reviewers who, for the most part, described the gameplay as fun and engaging. Many liked the crisp graphics and focus on multiplayer.

Q3a is a very fast game!,and you have to think very fast,
so If you feel the bots are playing too fast for u, there are two ways:
(1) slow down the bot thinking speed by changing "\bot_thinktime" to more
than 200. More than 500 and the bots will be very stupid even in Nightmare!
(2) Speed up your thinking speed: enable cheats (\spdevmap q3dm4), play
with \timescale , 1 is default 2 is double the time speed (0.5 is too slow)
0.7 is good to try .
-when time is slow you can avoid rockets easier and aim better with the rail
gun. so you can record a game "\record" in slow mode and play very good.
then play the recorded game "/play [[demo name]" to see how good you are fraging.

Press one key:

In the game when cheats are activated you type in console "bind [any key] [any cheat]".
Example: "bind v give all" when you typed you just need to press "v" to do "give all"
To activate the following codes bring down console and type:
/iamacheater-Unlock All Levels at Skill 1
/iamamonkey-Unlock All Levels at Skill 100
/model sarge/krusade-Hidden Sarge Skin
Cheat mode:

Load Q3DemoTest, open the console, and
type /spdevmap
Use the one of the following values for :
The game will load in single-player mode with the current
settings of the bot variables, and cheat mode enabled.
Enter one of the following console commands to activate
the corresponding cheat function.
Effect Code

Toggle God mode /god
Toggles no clipping mode /noclip
All weapons and ammo1 /give all
Spawn indicated item /give
1. The Grenade Launcher and the BFG10K weapons that
are unlocked by this codes function, but the graphics
are incomplete. It will appear that your character is
not holding any weapon when they are selected.
Item names:

Use one of the following item names with the /give code.
Information in this section was contributed by Apathystouch.
battle suit
grappling hook
grenade launcher
lightning gun
personal teleporter
plasma gun
quad damage
rocket launcher
All FMV sequences:

Start the game with the quake3.exe +seta g_spVideos
command line.

In the Folder "Quake III Arena \ baseq3 " you will find the file "q3config.cfg"
with an text editor other than windows notepad edit and change all the frag
limits and Time limits to zero. This will set all these limits to "no limit"
use your favorite cheat codes and enjoy...!
Defeat Xzearo:

There is a glitch in his targeting system! He can rail you twice at
any Distance or use his BFG to fry you, but, if you grab a railgun
and move behind the pillar next to it...you can inch very slowly to
the point where you can see the boost pad on the other side of the
map without exposing your entire body. If you do it just right...
You can score at least 3 frags on Xzearo. Unfortunately the computer
allows him to respawn near you. If this happens...grab the newly
spawned rail gun (so he can't) and run like hell to the boost pad.
When you reach the far side...Hide behind the pillar and keep railing
him as soon as he tries to use the boost pad after you. With luck, he
won't spawn behind you much, and you will be able to pick him off
enough to meet the frag limit.
Console Commands:

by: Mustafa Kafateh
While playing the game bring up the console by pressing (~) and type:
/cg_drawfps 1 to view the frames per second
/cg_fov to change the field of view
/cg_thirdperson 1 to play in third person mode
also /cg_thirdpersonrange
/record to record a game
/stoprecord to stop recording
To get all the console commands go to:
Note 1: when typing a console command press tab to see
all commands that begin with the same letter.
Note 2: The file pak0.pk3 in \baseq3 in the game directory is a zip file with
none compression; you can open it with winzip, extract a file, edit it, then
add it and replace it with the old one with none compression......enjoy.
But be sure to make a backup.

Commit suside

bring down the quake 3 console by pressing the "~" key and then type the fallowing line
\bind x "\kill"
where x is any key of your choice
now during game play if you press the key 'x'. Then you will die your self. Thus you
can prevent others from fraging you in a mulitplayer game when time is critical.
Mixed hidden extravagances:

* Dopefish -
In the "Deva Station" map (Q3DM11) when you stand in front of the shotgun spawn place,
then turn by 180° , a part of the wall will slide revealing a zombie-version of the
famous Dopefish. The writing "You have found a Secret!" is also displayed.
* Hairy Puppet #1 -
In the "The Bouncy Map" map (Q3DM16), if you put yourself on spectate mode, then fly
at the bottom of the map and look up, you can see the picture of a hairy puppet.
* Hairy Puppet #2 In the "Apocalypse Void" map (Q3DM19), if you put yourself on
spectate mode, then fly at the bottom of the map and look up to the under part of
the floor, you can see another picture of the hairy puppet.
Slower bots without each time cheat enabling:

first I would like to thank Mustafa, Grim Reaper and Gaurav Kumar Meena, my hint
is somewhat a synthesis.
If you dont want to enable cheats, and write series of commands each time to slow down bots
use this solution, it is based on Mustafa's hint, it doesnt affect bots ai, but only changes

1. go to \baseq3 folder and find q3config.cfg, pack it wit zip or rar and leave archived here,
this is in case somethings goes wrong (if so, simply unpack q3config.cfg and replace broken one with it).
2. create autoexec.cfg, edit it (dont use notepad for this) and place following lines in it:
bind i "timescale 0.8"
bind m "timescale 1"
seta sv_cheats "1"
seta timescale "0.8"
3. save file

after you start the game, on all maps in single player time runs 0.8 times slower
so you have it more to for example hide from fired rocket. To this point you dont need \devmap <> command.
It works well. But if You want to have more control over passing time, you need to use \devmap command.
In this case you follow this: after running quake, load map with ~ and \devmap [q*dm*] command
(where * marks number from range), while playing press [i] to slow 0.8 times and [m] to set normal

although timescale will affect all the maps without the need of using \devmap command
in order to experience first effect of first 2 lines, one need to load map with \devmap command,
otherwise a message will appear: "timescale is cheat proteced";
funny thing, but (with this autoexec file in place) if you type \sv_cheats, you will receive
message: sv_cheats "1" default "1"; on any map
even if you havent used \devmap command, despite the fact that cheats dont work then.
