Cheats & Codes: - Neverwinter Nights

Play centers on the development of a character who becomes the ultimate hero of the story. In the original NWN scenario supplied with the game engine, the player is single-handedly responsible for defeating a powerful cult; collecting the four reagents required for stopping an insatiable plague; thwarting an attack on the city of Neverwinter, and many other side quests. The first and final chapters of the story in the official campaign deal with the city of Neverwinter itself, but the lengthy mid-story requires the player to venture into the countryside and then northward to the city of Luskan. Neverwinter is a city on the Sword Coast of Faerûn, in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons and Dragons.

Use a text editor to edit the "nwn.ini" file in the game folder. Add the 
following line under the "Game Options" section: 
 Debug Mode=1 

Then, press ~ during game play and type DebugMode 1 (case sensitive) to 
enable cheat mode. Then, press ~ again and press [Tab] to view the debug 
commands. Press [Tab] to scroll through the commands. Enter one of the 
following case-sensitive codes to activate the corresponding cheat 
function. The message "Success" will confirm correct code entry. If 
the message "Entered Target Mode" appears, click on the desired character 
to apply the cheat. 

Note: If you alter your character, load the "nwnplayer.ini" file in the 
game folder and set the following lines in order to continue past the 
module you are currently on: 

 Single Player Enforce Legal Characters=0
 Single Player ItemLevelRestrictions=0



To enable Neverwinter Nights cheats, you will need to hit the tilde 
(Shift + ~) key and type in "DebugMode 1" (case sensitive). Then hit 
the (Shift + ~) key again and press [TAB]. This should show you a list
of the different functions available. Hit [TAB] again to scroll down the
list. NOTE: All Neverwinter Nights codes are case sensitive.

NOTE: On some of the Neverwinter Nights cheats, it will simply give you a 
message saying "success" after you type the code and press [ENTER]. Other ones,
such as the SetCHA will say "Entered Target Mode". You must click on your 
character to enable the changes to your character. Check out the Neverwinter
Nights in-game listing, since it contains a whole bunch of different functions. 

 
MORE  
To use a command line action, you can bring up the console 
using the tilde key. You can also enter console commands 
into the chat widow by prefacing them with a double pound "##".

Before opening the larger chests that are often trapped and locked, you can
quicksave your game. Nearly always, the contents of these chests are random,
with items within being chosen from a random table comprised of items of 
relatively equal value. Thus, a particular chest may always contain a powerful
magic item, with different items to choose from each time you reload and reopen
the chest.


Easy gold:


When you begin a new game, you can sell your class suit for 1gp, and you can buy it
for 0gp, so if you buy and sell it over and over again you can get unlimited amounts
of gold.


Choose your treasure:


Save right before opening trapped chests, because the game randomizes the contents. 
If you get something uselss, reload the game for a possibility of something better. 


Your own personal vault:


If you don't mind playing with the level editor, you can make your own personal 
equipment shack. Just fire up the Aurora Toolset, build a room, and drop in as much
equipment as you like. Then start a new character in that module, export it (click 
"Save Character"), and start a new campaign game with the save character.


Extra violence level option:


To turn on an extra level of violence, open the nwnplayer.ini file and change Memory
Level=1 to Memory Level=2 and Memory Access=1 to Memory Access=2. Save the file and 
start the game. You will see a new violence level under the 'Game Settings' tab 
called "Special" and it should be already selected


GameTip:
 

When you plan on receiving something experience and/or gold in return for an item 
such as a head of a players enemy or any other item, stand next to that person and
pause the game. Then talk to the person and give them the item they want. you will 
receive experience and/or gold but you will not lose the item until you unpause the
game. You can keep on giving the person the item and receiving experience/gold until
you unpause the game. 


Unlimited Money & Xp:


To unlimited money and experience pause the game and hand a item which someone wants
and you'll get experience or money. Then keep handing it to then when you are happy 
with the results un-pause the game.


INSTANT LEVEL 20 INFINITE GOLD AND INVICIBILITY/INSTANT KILL WEAPON:

This cheat requires some knowledge of the aurora toolset, open it up, make a new 
module etc, similar to that of that other guy further up the page, create a character,
make them a defender and watever else u want to, then edit ther charecter conversation,
and make them say anything, select what they say, then in the bottom right of the 
conversation screen, select the actions taken sub-menu and then use click the small
button with a red hat on it, and it should bring up a menu of actions that can be 
done, select give rewards, then check the box give xp, and give gold, and put in 
9999999999999 into each box, low and behold, you are level 20, with lots of gold!
"BUT WHERE IS OUR INVINCIBILTY INSTANT KILL WEAPON?" i hear you cry! well, im coming
to that now, open up the item wizard, and create a weapon of any type u want, i would
suggest against a ranged weapon though, as they kinda suck, edit the item properties 
and go to the abilities sub menu, and theres all the possible abilities the item can 
use, you can put as many of them as you want, and for stuff like AC bonus and magic 
defence, you can select the ability and click the properties button/double click the
ability, and you can change the resistance/AC to the maximum value. so, you can put 
on it 100% immunity to spells of level 0-9, no magic can damage you! and u can also 
immunify yourself to all forms of combat damage, and give your weapon cool looks with
attack types, i prefer lightning ability, as it looks amazing, but some of the other 
abilities overwrite it, so you should look at the effect of each ability on the look 
of your weapon. and then take it off and look at another, choose whichever you like 
best. assigning spells to the weapons doesnt seem to work. but oh well, paste the 
item into the area when your done. then take your charecter into the module and collect
your bounty, oh and, if that amount of money isnt enough for you, you can paste more 
of the weapon into the map, and sell sell sell for $$$ happy happy happy!! and, you 
can double up the weapon if its a one hander! 

I occasionally run a module called money money money and stuff on the multiplayer 
server, you can get full cash and level 20 there, and also amazing swords and other
equipment, join that game if you want amazing stuff and no hassle of making the module
yourself.


Cheats:

dmgoldX  - Give the x amount of coins


Infinite money:
 
On the first level you can buy your class suit for no money then you can sell it back
for 1 gold, so buy it and buy it until your backpack is full then sell all of them 
and repeat until you have as much money as you want.


Use Any Model In The Game:

This is a very help trick if you dislike the small amount of model possibilities 
that Nwn gives you.To use any model in the game as your main character in every 
game,simply while in your game,activate the DebugMode 1 and then type in the 
following line in the console,SetAppearance #,where the # is a number from 1 to 
290,when you change into a model that you like,simple save your character and 
then exit your game,then when you load the character with the model you chose 
into another game,you will find that you have the model that you chose in your
game!


Grow Levels Faster:
 
Pick or make a character and then do the prelude. Complete the prelude and you 
should gain 2 levels. after you complete the prelude save your character not the 
game. if you want to do it over go to the main menu and start a new game select 
a pre-made character and do it over again.


Toolset cheat:
 
Go into the toolset, create a area. Then create a weapon or armor with an load of 
enchantments and bonuses, doesn't really matter what. Save it, enter the game, and 
play the mod. Pick up what you created and save character. Then start a new game 
with the character you saved, and since you wont be able to use your creation for 
the next 40 lvls or so you might as well sell it and get filthy rich!


Revitalization:

On the first level after you meet "Aribith" she will give you the "Stone of Recall". 
Ok now go to the door in front of you. A man will ask you to be his partner for 250 
gold pay him because he is very handy OK once you have done this. You will face some
pretty hard enemies. But this is where the code comes in handy. Sooner or later your
henchmen will dye. If he dyes during a battle don't worry about it. Kill the enemies
off and use the "Stone of Recall" it will send you where lady aribith is your 
henchmen will be waiting for you when you use the stone of recall.


Lady Aribeth's Charity:
 
message: When you first meet Lady Aribeth at the Hall of Justice, she will give you 
100 gp. Talk to her again, and first say you want to ask her questions, then ask her 
how to use the Stone of Recall. She'll tell you, then give you 100 gp. Do this over, 
and over again, and you'll be makin' money really quickly.


Easy battles:

An easy and effective strategy when fighting Bosses or other hard to kill creatures 
is to make them follow you until you reach an area transition door. Fight close to 
it and when your hit points are low, exit. The creature will not follow you through 
the door. Rest and save; then go back to fight. Normally the creature will not have 
regenerated. This trick can also work with normal doors depending on the monster; 
normally humanoid creatures will be able to open non-area transition doors.


Trapped chests:

If you cannot get a trap disarmed, use missile weapons to bash the chest (right 
click on the chest and choose "Bash" on the radial menu). This will get rid of the 
trap and bash open the chest. Remember to position yourself and your henchman far 
enough away from the chest that you will not get hit if the missile triggers the 
trap on the first hit.


Infinite gold:

Use the map editor and create an item.base the item as gold then keep pressing next 
until you get to a bit where it says ADVANCED PROPERTIES click on it and change where 
it says UNITS from 1 to whatever amount of gold u want then place the item on your 
map and save the map. next load up nn press single player then find your custom map 
load your charecter then pick up the gold. after save your charecter and quit the 
map when you load the char on campaign mode you will have tons of gold!


Removing Level Restrictions:

Here's a way to disable the Item Level requirements, so you don't have to wait before
using that Uber-Sword-of-Doom +100. I don't know if this works for Multiplayer, but 
I would assume it does.

To Disable Item Level Restrictions:
1.Make a backup of the nwnplayer.ini (not essential, but always a good thing to do 
  when editing it.) The file is located in the main game directory.
2.Under the [Game Options] of the nwnplayer.ini, change the ItemLevelRestrictions 
  from 1 to 0.
3.Save and exit. That's it!

Example:
Original: [Game Options]
Single Player ItemLevelRestrictions=1
New: [Game Options]
Single Player ItemLevelRestrictions=0


Easy items:

Create a toolset and put your chosen items or custom items on the ground of your 
toolset. Name your toolset, then go to "New Game" at the starting menu. Then, choose
"Other Modules". Click on your module and create or open an existing character. When
your module has loaded, pick up the items that you placed on the toolset then save 
your character (not your game). You can now start a new game with that existing 
character, with the good items. Note: You can also get easy experience by editing 
enemies so that they are worth more experience points.


Easy gold:

Note: This trick requires the most recent patch for the game, but not without the 
Shadows Of Underintide expansion pack. Play a multi-player game long enough to get
some expensive armor, swords, gems, etc. Have whoever is running the server save 
the game, then save your character on your client. Then, drop all your armor, 
helmets, weapons, gold pieces, gems, etc., basically leaving you with absolutely
nothing. Exit the game but leave the server playing. Then, reconnect with your 
previously saved character with all the items you dropped still in your inventory.
All of your items should be in the floor. Pick them up and sell them. You can repeat
this as many times as desired. For the person who is running the server to do this, 
save the character and game before dropping the items. Then, drop everything and 
exit out. Reload the map with the saved character that still has everything then go
in and pick up the items. 


Easy experience:

In the Prelude, try to skip all the battles. After talking to the man who teaches 
you about leveling up (thus taking you to level 2), go directly to the barn area. 
Talk to Fenthick, and tell him you will meet him at the Halls Of Justice. After 
he levels you up to level 3, go back and kill all of the enemies that you passed 
on the way there. You can get approximately 1000 to 2000 extra experience points 
by doing this.
